Chiropractic Care – Modification To A Golfer’s Game
Abhishek Agarwal asked:
Many professional golfers receive chiropractic care. Lori West, a pro golfer, claims she is still able to play golf to this day due to receiving chiropractic care. She started paying visits to a chiropractor nearly twenty years ago due to neck and shoulder pains that she was experiencing. She asserts that her golf game has improved due to the care she has received.
The golf swing can prevent one from having a healthy and fit back. This is As maintained by Dr. Travis Ruda who is a golfing buff as well as a chiropractor. Tension is created in the spine when executing a good swing. The tension is built due to the rotation of the shoulders while the hips are stationary and it allows the golfer to have a good stance. This motion is like that of a coil and a downswing resembles uncoiling of the body. This movement creates back problems in the lower parts as this uncoiling motion is difficult to maneuver.
To avoid some simple problems, the following chiropractic advice is offered. Start all golf games by carrying out basic stretches for the hamstrings and groins. Secondly, hold a club behind the back and pull it up. This has the effect of flexing the muscles on the shoulder.
Additionally, leaning right and left with a club placed across the shoulders is a good stretching routine. Hold the club in reverse, that is, hold it in a left handed stance if you swing with a right handed one and vise versa. Make a total of ten practice swings. This activity will stretch a number of muscles and will help loosen and warm up your muscles. The bodies free motion is limited by neck muscles that are stiff. Therefore, neck stretches should be performed if the neck muscles are tight.
Golfer’s elbow is a state whereby the arm bone becomes tender and causes a great deal of pain. The over rotated bone can be adjusted by chiropractors. A good swing is greatly dependent on balance and shoes that use orthodic stabilizers facilitate this.
One’s game playing ability is greatly aided by activities that increase ones flexibility. This is especially important as one grows older since the muscles become less elastic thereby also limiting ones range of motion.
Good balance is fundamental in maintaining a good swing throughout ones game. This is brought on by a spine that’s in good health as it gives one a good posture and the necessary balance.
A chiropractor not only cares for ones back but for the entire body. They are the people to see when ones muscles are not well coordinated.
